Veterinary Clinic / Bed & Biscuit

The past decade has brought phenomenal advances in veterinary care, with many of the same procedures and medicines used for humans now being used to both extend and improve the quality of your pet’s life. Before making any decisions, we will talk with you at length about what medicines and procedures can and cannot do and what is really in the best interest of your pet.

Please call (614) 866-2290 for more information

We provide emergency service for our clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays
We always have a veterinarian on call to handle emergencies. If anything happens to your pet— an injury, a sudden illness— we want to help. Please call us immediately. If the emergency is after our regular hours, leave a voice message with your telephone number, name, and brief description of the emergency. The doctor on call will contact you soon after receiving your message. Please try to leave your telephone line free to facilitate our return call.

We offer complete diagnostic services, including consultations with veterinary specialists when needed
All laboratory work, such as blood sampling, x-rays and ultrasound, is performed on-site and then transmitted via telemedicine and computer to board-certified veterinary radiologists, cardiologists, pathologists, and internal medicine specialists. They review your pet’s test results within  hours (or sooner in emergency cases) and then confer with us to establish the best treatment plan-of-action for your pet. Additionally, we are members of an Internet veterinary consultation service, also staffed with board-certified specialists, to help us further evaluate medically challenging cases. We perform a full range of surgical procedures, from routine to complex, right at Hillview
We are equipped and staffed to perform all routine veterinary surgeries, from neutering to simple injury treatment to tumor excision and biopsy. We also have specialized training in laser surgery and the latest state-of-the art equipment. For more complicated cases, such as serious bone fractures or soft tissue injuries, we arrange with veterinary internal medicine and surgical specialists to assist at our clinic.

We provide preventive care to protect your pet’s health
Since prevention is always better than cure, we encourage you to keep your pets properly vaccinated and have regular health-screening check-ups. Such measures can help detect disease at an earlier and perhaps more treatable stage so your pet can live a long and happy life. We also send you reminders when your pet is due for vaccinations and heartworm screenings.

IMPORTANT: The entire Hillview veterinary staff also strongly recommends bringing your pet in for a wellness exam every six months rather than just once a year when vaccinations are due. Through experience, we have found that these exams can make a significant contribution to helping your pet live a longer, healthier life.  Click Here for more information.

Our staff makes follow-up calls to all patients after every visit
We always want to know how your pet is doing after a visit to us, especially if he or she has had a surgical procedure or has been put on medication for an illness. We both need the reassurance that comes from complete communication. And, if there is a persistent problem or surgical complication, we want to give your pet immediate help.

Dr. Josh can design a personal weight management program for your pet.
Prescription weight loss diet food available at Hillview. Extra weight can compromise your pet’s health, including heart, liver and joint problems and can shorten their life expectancy. However, the problem can be remedied by diet and exercise.

We offer full dental care services to help protect your pet from serious illnesses

Just think how you would feel if your teeth and gums were in the condition that your pet’s are in!  Click Here for FAQ

Many pet owners question why it is important to have a pet’s teeth cleaned? Good dental health is a vital part of your pet’s general health. Research has shown that dogs and cats with poor dental health are highly likely to develop other diseases from bacteria entering the bloodstream through inflamed, bleeding or infected gums. These bacteria settle in the liver, kidney, urinary bladder, and heart tissue and cause infection in these organs. Moreover, when a pet has a chronic oral (mouth) infection, this is also very hard on his or her immune system, and can limit his ability to fight off other infections and diseases. Make no mistake: periodontal (gum) disease and abscessed teeth are VERY PAINFUL for your pet, and having these conditions treated will help your pet live a longer, healthier, and pain free life!

In addition, we would like to offer all pets who receive a dental workup and cleaning at Hillview, a Free bag of C.E.T. Enzymatic Chews, excellent means to maintain good dental health.
